Q4 Highlights (April – June)

The halfway point for 2025 also marks the conclusion of Fiscal Year (FY) 2025, and we are excited to reflect on the key transportation initiatives we participated in and led across Palm Beach County during this time. From celebrating National Bike Month to engaging the community through Tri-Rail station assessments and hosting workshops, it’s been an exciting and productive few months. We’re also proud to highlight the progress made during FY 2025 and the partnerships that continue to move our region forward. Take a look at some of the past quarter’s highlights that demonstrate the TPA’s continued leadership, engagement, and regional impact!

Leadership Palm Beach County – Transportation & Tourism Day – April

In April, our Executive Director proudly served as co-chair for Leadership Palm Beach County’s annual Transportation & Tourism Day. This immersive, full-day experience was organized for the LPBC Engage Class of 2025 provided a firsthand exploration of Palm Beach County’s comprehensive transportation system and vibrant tourism sector.

The day’s highlights included riding a range of local mobility services—Tri-Rail, Palm Tran, Brightline, Circuit, BrightBike, and even a catamaran—offering participants a true multimodal experience. Attendees also engaged in several insightful panel discussions, including one hosted at the Palm Beach TPA, where key transportation partners shared perspectives on regional mobility challenges and solutions. The event’s success was made possible through the support of our community stakeholders who continue to play a vital role in advancing our shared vision for a connected and accessible Palm Beach County.

Bike Immersion Program Delegation – April

Also in April, our Executive Director, Deputy Director of Multimodal, and several TPA Board Members joined fellow South Florida transportation leaders for a transformative Bike Immersion Program hosted by the Dutch Cycling Embassy. This international exchange provided a deep dive into global best practices for designing safe, connected, and inclusive bicycle infrastructure.

The delegation explored innovative approaches to cycling that offer valuable insights for enhancing our transportation network, further reinforcing the TPA’s commitment to a safe, efficient, and connected multimodal transportation system.

Tri-Rail Station Assessment – April

As part of an effort to improve the overall commuting experience, the TPA conducted over 500 surveys with riders across Tri-Rail stations in Palm Beach County and observed and assessed area conditions to identify access improvements to and from the stations, including walking, biking, and local transit connections. The study will advance efforts to improve first- and last-mile connectivity to the regional transit system. With the growing use of e-bicycles on trains, the study identified strategies to enhance safe and convenient access to commuter rail stations in Palm Beach County. The findings will guide future infrastructure investments and policy recommendations supporting a unified and complete transportation network.

TPA Mobile Tours – Regional Freight & Port Facilities

To strengthen understanding of freight movement and economic development, the TPA organized mobile tours of two major South Florida ports:

These tours provided stakeholders with valuable, first-hand insight into the infrastructure that supports regional and global trade.

National Bike Month – May

May is National Bike Month, a nationwide celebration of biking as a fun, healthy, and sustainable mode of transportation and recreation. Throughout the month, the TPA was proud to support and participate in a variety of bike-focused activities across the county. From participating in bike rodeos and sharing bicycle safety tips with the community, and joining schools for Bike & Roll to School Day, May was a busy and exciting month dedicated to promoting safe, active transportation for all!

TPA Workshops – June

In June, the TPA hosted two workshops to engage transportation partners and advance regional transportation goals.

The Vision Zero Action Plan (VZAP) Workshop provided attendees with information on the 2025 VZAP update. The TPA shared progress on ongoing efforts to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries, introduced new tools like the TPA Crash Dashboard, and highlighted local achievements in advancing Vision Zero throughout Palm Beach County.

The Transit-Oriented Communities (TOC) Workshop offered an in-depth look at current policies surrounding TOCs in Palm Beach County. Attendees heard from policy experts on development and transit planning. The workshop concluded with a discussion and group activity about TOC initiative next steps as communities across the county continue working toward a more connected, multimodal future.

Annual Report & Strategic Plan Update – June

The TPA recently completed its 2025 Annual Report and updated its Strategic Plan for FY 2026 to reflect progress made and priorities for the new year ahead. The Annual Report highlights accomplishments from the past year, including the FY 2025 goals and actions, as well as a recap of events hosted, a look at upcoming transportation funding and project updates.

The Strategic Plan outlines clear goals and actions the TPA intends to achieve during FY 2026, in alignment with its Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). It provides a measurable, action-oriented roadmap to advance the TPA’s mission to plan, prioritize, and fund a safe, efficient, and connected multimodal transportation system. Among the many initiatives planned are creating video tutorials to help users navigate unique TPA tools, conducting a pedestrian, bicycle, and micromobility safety study, hosting a Think Bike Workshop Training, and developing a Safe Routes to School Action Plan.
