Creating safer, more walkable and bikeable communities takes more than just planning and infrastructure—it takes people. Join the Palm Beach TPA for an engaging training session with former Mayor John Bauters, widely recognized as “America’s Bike Mayor.” This workshop is designed to equip planners, engineers, and elected officials with the tools to effectively communicate the benefits of walking and biking, build public support, and overcome common barriers to change.

Participants will gain practical strategies to:

  • Reframe community concerns and address resistance with empathy and clarity.
  • Craft compelling messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Identify and empower local champions to help lead and sustain momentum.
  • Communicate the “why” behind active transportation in ways that inspire action.

Whether advancing a single corridor project or implementing a regional mobility plan, this training will provide the insight and communication techniques needed to shift mindsets and move communities toward a more people-centered transportation future.

Seating is limited and registration will close once capacity is reached.
